Suggested certificates of language proficiency are as follows:

1. Programs taught in English

a. Applicants who have achieved the required score on an internationally recognized English-language proficiency test (minimum TOEFL iBT: 63 or IELTS: 5.0).

b. Applicants who graduated from a school where English is the medium of instruction during senior high school, can opt not to take the exam but are required to present an official certificate from the awarding school that is duly signed by the Dean / the Head of the Department stating that the official teaching language is English.

2. Programs taught in Chinese

a. Applicants who possess TOCFL Level 2 proficiency or HSK Level 4 proficiency.

b. Applicants who graduated from a school where Chinese is the medium of instruction during senior high school, can opt not to take the exam but are required to present an official certificate from the awarding school that is duly signed by the Dean / the Head of the Department (such as graduation diploma of Malaysian Independent High School) stating that the official teaching language is Chinese.
