2026年8月26,27日にTU-UTeM Joint Symposium on Researchが開催され、本学からは河村学長、安澤副学長、木下センター長、コインカー副センター長、安野教授、馬場教授が参加しました。
会期中、双方の研究紹介と研究室訪問によって新たな共同研究の可能性を探ると共に、プロジェクト基金の設立やDouble Degreeプログラムの促進についても熱心な議論が交わされました。
また、Vice-Chancellor のProf. Massila Kamalrudin の歓迎を受け、今後益々の友好並びに連携強化を約束しました。
On August 26 and 27, 2026, the TU-UTeM Joint Symposium on Research was held at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). Participants from Tokushima University included President Kawamura, Vice President Yasuzawa, Director Kinoshita of the Center for International Research and Educational Cooperation (CIREC), Vice Director Koinkar, Professor Yasuno, and Professor Baba. The symposium provided an excellent opportunity for active exchanges aimed at further strengthening research and educational collaboration between the two universities.
Delegation Visit: Tokushima University and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM)
During the symposium, researchers from both institutions presented their latest research achievements and future research plans, promoting academic exchange across a wide range of disciplines. In addition, laboratory visits enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of each institution’s research facilities and research environment. Through these activities, both sides exchanged views on potential new collaborative research projects that could explore their respective strengths.
Furthermore, discussions were held on establishing a joint project fund and developing a cooperative framework for securing research funding, with the goal of further strengthening the research partnership between the two universities.

From the perspective of enhancing student exchange and human resource development, both sides also engaged in productive discussions on expanding the Double Degree Program and promoting student and faculty exchanges. These discussions resulted in a shared understanding of future initiatives and collaborative activities.

During the visit, the delegation received a warm welcome from Prof. Massila Kamalrudin, Vice-Chancellor of UTeM. The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the long-standing friendship between the two institutions and to confirm their mutual commitment to further strengthening collaboration in both education and research. This visit served as a valuable platform for deepening the strategic partnership between Tokushima University and UTeM and achieved significant outcomes that will contribute to the continued development of international exchange and joint research activities.
